The HCAL-710 is a precision handheld thermocouple calibrator designed to measure or simulate 8 thermocouple types (J, K, N, R, S, T, E, B) and millivolt signals in °C, °F or mV, making it ideal for calibrating temperature controllers, indicators, recorders and transmitters.

With high accuracy, built in cold junction compensation and a large 5 digit LCD, it provides a compact, easy to use solution for on site and workshop temperature calibration.

Features

  • Measures and simulates 8 thermocouple types: J, K, N, R, S, T, E, B
  • Measures and simulates millivolt signals for precise temperature signal simulation
  • High basic accuracy typically ±0.3°C for temperature and about ±(0.025% + counts) for mV ranges
  • Voltage/mV range typically -10 mV to 75-100 mV with 0.01 mV resolution for fine adjustment
  • Built in cold junction compensation (CJC) with display of ambient temperature
  • Large 5 digit LCD (approx. 64 x 42 mm) for clear readings
  • Selectable units: °C, °F or mV depending on mode
  • Auto power off (default 30 minutes, often adjustable) and low battery indication
  • Handheld, robust design (around 205 x 97/98 x 45/46 mm, ~472 g including batteries)
  • Powered by 6 x AAA batteries (not supplied)
  • External power supply jack (power supply available separately)
  • Supplied with thermocouple plugs, user manual and soft carry case

Typical applications

  • Calibrating and checking thermocouple based temperature controllers, indicators, PLC and recorder inputs.
  • Simulating thermocouple signals to test temperature loops during commissioning and maintenance.
  • Verifying accuracy and troubleshooting thermocouple probes and associated instruments in industrial process and heat treatment applications.
